Hi all,
Does anyone have carpet on the floor just the way its here in USA?I think its good for kids/infants as they tend to fall often.Not sure how it will be for cleaning(but with vaccum cleaner it shud be ok) right?what do you say everyone.....any advice/suggestions are welcome.

For kid, you can consider area rugs in specific places in Bedroom/Living room, etc. But with the amount of dust in India, I would not recommend a full carpeting. You can at least take the area rugs out and give them a good dusting. Dust collected in carpet, might actually be more harmful (from allergy perspective).

I think you can do it. Once, the kid grows up, you might lose interest and would want to upgrade to granite/marble.. then you have to tear down the floor and if its an apartment, you would need association/society permissions, so that you wouldn't damage someone else's roof:). Like Sid posted above, get that granite/marble flooring done now and use a rug. Wall-2-wall, if need be.

Wall to wall carpeting would be recommended only for an air-conditioned environment all year around with the doors opening only for entrance and egress from a foyer that acts as a buffer. and windows never opened at all.
