Admin will not be able to read all the posts in this forum.

Any question you want to ask Admin, please post in Admin Member Communication thread in Club Office, ths will be monitored by Admin regularly, so your question can be answered immediately.

This thread will be merged very soon with that thread.

Answer to your question: Use R2I General forum for all job related questions. If it is related to a specific city, post it in the city forum.

Hello,

Does anyone know the differences between the following three in Oracle India? If I am looking for a job at Oracle, is any division better than the others?

1. Oracle's India Development Center (IDC)
2. the company's International Support Center (ISC)
3. Oracle Solution Services India (OSSI).

Thanks

1. Oracle's India Development Center (IDC)
>>Product development, maintenance team. Bangalore does primarily technology products . Hyderabad does primarily Oracle applications products
2. the company's International Support Center (ISC)
>> Provides support to worldwide customers . Answering Service requests, etc.
3. Oracle Solution Services India (OSSI).
>>does consulting work in India and perhaps neighborhood.

I would like to hear from R2Iers who have more than 15 years exp in their field and
working as Individual contributor either in product company or services company.
Is it really difficult to find well paying job for an IC.What are the pros and cons of
being an IC in India.
Thanks

I can give myself as an example. But more than boasting as if I did this intentionally, it just happenned that I wasnt good enough for other better roles, and wasnt too bad to be fired from my role, and my experience will count (close to 20 yrs now). I also lucked out in the sense money is not a issue. The additional money I'll make if I get promoted (if), wont make a dent in the bigger picture. Yes, you are right in what you are thinking. My wife does gets pissed of every now & then, that my status is less compared to my peers. But too late, I have been in slumber for too long. Even if I wake up & run fast, I wont be able to catch up, especially some of my peers are in top positions. I have learnt to exploit this situation in my own favour.
