Congratulations to IPCC, Dr. RK Pauchari and Al Gore for sharing the Nobel Peace Price on protecting the earth and taking massive measures to overcome Global Warming. We should be really proud that Dr. RK Pauchari who is an Indian has shared the Nobel peace price along with Al Gore and others in IPCC.
Unfortunately, US Media doesn't report his name at all and mentions only as IPCC and the media arrogance in US still dominates to show that only America is the only country in the world.

IPCC has bunch of people http://www.ipcc.ch/about/chart.htm and not just Dr Pachauri, that is why individual names are not mentioned. Call it my ignorance or media propaganda but I never knew what IPCC does, or rather I even did not know about its existence.

Dr R K Pachauri heads IPCC and atleast his name should be represented in all news along with Al Gore. I understand even though an individual like Al Gore gets a nobel prize there is a group of esteemed individuals who work with Al Gore as a team for global warming and they all deserve to get a recoginition.
Congratulations to IPCC, RK Pauchari and Al Gore for sharing Nobel Peace Prize
Did not the IPCC get the award and not the individual members?
The membership may change from time to time and even during the time for which their work was awarded the prize - so would they be obligated to list current members or even members as they changed?

He is the chairman of IPCC and he needs to be recognized for his contribution. I agree that he DID NOT got Nobel prize as an individual but as an organization which he heads currently, his name should be recognized for the timeframe till he holds that position.
For his credentials, please click at http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rajendra_K._Pachauri
He has 2 phd's from North Carolina State University which is commendable may be not equivalent to the achievements of Al Gore.

Congratulations to IPCC and Al Gore. This is a great achievement by them and above all it encourages people fighting global warming to work harder. And that is good for the Globe.

I dont see what great thing Gore bhai did. Somebody handed him a script and asked him to parrot some lines on how the glaciers are melting and polar bears are dying and he did as told and documentary was made. Then he went around and attended a bunch of parties and talked the same stuff and bingo a nobel peace prize lands in his lap. If anything the director of the documentary ought to share it.
Congratulations to IPCC, RK Pauchari and Al Gore for sharing Nobel Peace Prize
Nand,
The prize Gore received was not for the documentary as you make it out to be.

MeraNaseebR2I;50763Yeah - this work of promoting his name is left to Indian Newspapers like Times of India.
TOI does a darn good job of spotting an Indian name and calling it "India's achievement".
Oh BTW - they already did it ....

Yes, some Indian newspapers like to project RK Pachauri as one of the recipients of Nobel peace prize. RK pachauri is nothing but a puppet head and did not get that position by his merit as a scholar or scientist , but by lobbying and politics (through power corridor in Indian politics).
We all know the fate of his own organization, Tata Energy Research Institute (TERI); though Tata group or Tata amily has nothing to do with that organization. TERI is full of corruption with average and below average scientists (as per publications and patents/technology used or sold for practical use). I hapen to worked with some ex-TERI employees and became aware about it's condition in more detail.
Besides good amount of farm lands in different locations, TERI is having a grand building in a prime real estate location in the heart of Delhi but producing nothing but some TV ads for public consumption and attracting money from different national and international sources without any meaningful result through political influence. There is no doubt that RK Pachauri has huge influence in Indian political circle, as expected.
