Connection issues

Post by mahipalc »

I am facing a strange problem accesing this forum. When I try to connect from my home computer, I get a 'page not found' error. This started about 3 days ago. But when I connect from any other computer away from home I have no issues.

I dont know the technical details much, but does it mean my IP is being blocked? I have never had this issue before.

P.S: I can access every other website from my home except this.

OP, your issue has been noted by admins. We will try to figure out if there is any change from our side or from hosting site.

In the mean time, try clearing your cookies or other setting stored by your browser. Try accessing as a visitor (without logging in to the site). You can also try inserting the forum url as a trusted site in your browser setting.

Also, when you get the page not found error, hit 'CTRL + F5' keys to reload the page (instead of normal refresh).

Yes, I did try both Netscape and Firefox before posting, but no success.

I am afraid I've tried all that and more before I posted. Nothing is working. Its very interesting to note that when I connect through VPN from home to my work network and access this site from there it connects, but not directly from my home network.

Please go to Whatismyip.com. Get your IP address from there? Send me the IP address via PM facility and I will investigate. Our website server had an attack a few days back which blocked some IPs. Yours may have ended up in that block. I will send your IP address to our website host techs to look into.

I also suggest to power down everything including web modems and wireless routers and restart and try again.

I once could not access my bank website, no matter what I did, powering down PC etc and contacted bank if their site was down, it was not.

In the end it turned out that powerign down and powering back up the wireless router fixed it. Somehow the wireless router was blocking it in some way.

Mahipalc,

Thanks for sending the IP address. You should be able to access it now. Yes, your address had been blocked at the server and the technicians there assure me that it has been corrected now.
