Expatriate Packages - What do we need to know?

Opening this thread to discuss expatriate packages for USC, INC and other nationals when working away from home.

Please post your opinions, hearsay and anything that you have heard or have knowledge about these packages. What would be the starting point for Salary and other benefits?
