Hey Shell....what are the latest updates from your side? Where is your train?

My train is on tracks and on schedule right now. Let's see if it reaches station on time. I think we got one more week right?

Hey gals did u know this?

Forget gym or dieting and tune into your favourite comedy shows to shed those extra pounds, researchers have suggested.

The researchers have claimed that an hour’s laughter can burn up to 100-120 calories and boost the energy a person uses use by up to 20 percent.

That is the equivalent of vacuuming for 40 minutes, walking for 15-20 minutes or doing 18-27 minutes of weightlifting.

This means that a top sitcom could help an individual lose 1-2lb a month.

“Laughter gets the heart beating faster and boosts blood flow,” the Daily Star quoted Dr Helen Pilcher, who led the research for comedy channel G.O.L.D, as saying

“As you giggle and gasp for air, you breathe in more oxygen.

“The chest rises and falls and abdominal muscles get a good workout
,” Pilcher added.

So I reached target today :D :D :D Saw the scale drop down to 126.8
Now hopefully there won't be any upswing ...

What I did :
- Calorie counting on livestrong, Just adding the calories put an end to all my icecream/cookie/chocolate cravings.
- Gym .. mainly treadmill around 3 times a week .
- Tried Bikram Yoga for a couple of weeks .. Lot of our friends are big fans of this so decided to give it a shot . The class itself was 'interesting', I enjoyed the postures but the heat was something I din't get used to even after 6-7 classes. I used to go for a class at 6 in the evening . .. what this meant was I would not eat after 2 pm and even after the class I would not feel like eating.

The problem is that my body fat % hasn't changed much .. still around 31.5 %
And am still figuring out a more sustainable exercise habit :)

Hey Shell...awesome news!!! :) Congratulations.

I have 3 more days! Let's see if I can make it to exact 3 by then.

Last weekend made paneer paratha and curry for family! Ever since my fitness mania has started no high calorie cooking from my side. So thought giving a little surprise to all. :)

BTW whats ur goal? Resistance training/weights also helps in bringing that fat % down.

When we talked about it last I wasn't even sure if its possible , Now to ensure the downward curve continues .

SOunds yummy ... This is the difficult part for me ...
The last couple of weeks was no mithai/ no paneer/ no coconut/ no alu/ more roti less rice etc ......
It did help me lose weight but poor DH lost nearly 5 pounds !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! That too without exercise .
Now I am worried coz he's already borderline underweight ...

My goal : Attack the fat % , attack the tummy , attack the dress size :)

Ideally i would want to be around 118 ... Problem is I don't see the correlation between weight loss and lower fat % :(

Will try weight training but that sounds likethats something I would need a trainer for rigt ?

losing 3 pounds may not show much drastic changes in fat%. I can tell you in another 3 weeks when I will get mine checked again. In the last 3 months I have gone 2 sizes down. Most of it was post 2nd baby. Hope I can reach the first mile stone of pre second baby weight before the first bday of 2nd one next month.

I have noticed difference in body tone after resistance training. In the gym they generally sit with you and explain once regarding how they can be used. After that u can start doing. I was told doing cardio + resistance training is ideal.

Abs fat would be the last one to go...so don't get disappointed.

Few days back I had not been able to go to gym as planned. So just the idea of going for jog popped up. Wore my jacket, cap, everything and started running. Temp was in single digits. Used to feel amrus are crazy running in cold temps....but that day discovered it is such a fun in being crazy like that! Could not run for long with jacket and other stuff...but bringing out sweat in that temp itself was a treat for me. Now I am looking forward to join any spring/summer communite run of 3 miles or so. Not sure I would be able to run completely...but want to give it a shot like jog+walk and finally complete the stretch.

BTW don't discard any of your big size dresses once you go down...you will very much need them later! I have all size dresses...! :)

Shell you win this contest! I tried hard to make need cross the set margin! It simply did not agree! Anyways never mind... whats the next one?

Same 3 for 3 weeks? But you've got to do about something abt ur DH not losing weight...else if we ever meet he will outright kill me for pulling you into this!

I haven't been to gymn the entire week for some reasons or the other. But, I dreamt of running yesterday...more like I was running and running, completed 1 mile, then another and then another and I felt so happy that I was able to run for miles without panting. Then I woke up and found the same bed, same room and same old fatty me....:-(

Update:
I started running on the treadmill, usually I speed walk and do some basic yoga/stretching. I feel a little bit uneasy in my knees. Signs of aging either for me or my treadmill or lack of nutrition in the diet:-(

I took one of Diva's advice seriously and started eating light dinners. Switched from rice to two chappatis.
If I feel hungry later, I eat a bowl of cereal.

Goal is to shed upto 5 to 10 pounds by winter and tone a little bit. I do this every year to loose a few pounds gained in the winter months, although it gets difficult year after year to do it.
