How to convert money in NRE account to USD?
OP, I got a little lost when I read "How do I use remaining money here". But after reading the title, it rang the bell.
Option 1. You could do Western Union money transfer.
Option 2. If your parents or relatives are joint beneficiaries on your NRE account, they can request the bank to issue a travellers check or demand draft in USD.
Option 2 is a bit old school and was the most preferred way around 10 years back. I am not familiar with any recent ways to do it.
Hope it helps.

You can withdraw the money from local ATM.
But now the rate is bad for INR to USD conversion. You can hold on it for some time.

Most leading banks offer wire transfer facility to wire money from NRE to your US bank account. You will have to ask your bank about how to submit a wire request. For some reason they don't advertise it well on their website. Here is a link for ICICI

1) What is the process for making an outward remittance from my NRE account?
For making an outward remittance from your NRE account, please walk into any ICICI Bank Branch in India and initiate the outward remittance by filling up a simple request letter specifying the necessary details.
If you have access through Internet Banking to your NRE account you may also initiate the outward remittance request through infinity.
If you have a debit card linked to your NRE account you can use it in any US ATM.
Banks can also issue a foreign currency demand draft. Check with your bank. Follow the link above. Other banks should something similar.
