Learning license at Pune RTO ( 4 wheeler )

Post by bearcat »

So i visited the Pune RTO office (near Pune station , Junnabazzar )) recently for getting a learning license for 4 wheeler. I already have a exisitng 2 wheeler license (old style - booklet ) . For the benefit of members I am documenting the process.

The total time it will take is around 2 hrs. Getting a 4 wheeler learning license is easy when you have a 2 wheeler license . You just need the photocopy of exisitng license attached to form. . If you do not have any previous license then you will need usual list of regular documents (voter id or LIC policy, ration card, electricity bill etc ). The price for license is Rs 30. ( when u have a exisiting one already ).

1) get the form form the front of main white building of RTO office (before 12 noon ).

2) Fill in form and attach photogragh.

3) Go to the shed on left hand side (when facing the main while building ) it is apposite of first entrance of RTO compound ( at the back end ) . The learning license office is there in shed

4) Go to the extreme left office where a officer sits who verifies the documents and approves it.

5) Then go to the middle office in shed ( where different glass windows are there ) to make the payment and get the receipt.

6) after making the payment the payment window takes your form and fwds to next door office for fingerprinting and photo. They will call your name.

7) Once that is done take the form and receipt to the right side of shade ( outsid ethe main middle office )where there is a window to accept the form and receipt.

8) They will ask you to wait on benches outside the main office for 35 -40 mins and issue you teh smart card license

Note you will need to foillow all these strps even if you go through a agent and pay extra money.. the extra money is just for teh proprietory knowledge of process whihc i have documented here.

hopefully this helps
