Lock for Container?

Post by ar7 »

Hello,

Does anyone know of a good lock that I could purchase for a 20 foot container? Given the vast number of different types of locks, I have no idea which one would fit!

I know that the container would be sealed, but it's probably a good idea to lock the other door I'm guessing.

Thanks!

Lock for Container?

The shipping company typically lock and seal the container (if you are doing a full truck load of 20ft/40ft and not sharing the container). After they seal the container they provide you a code which only you will know. Once the container reaches the destination and you go there to the customs, the custom officials will open the container in front of you after verifying the code. This happened to me 2 years back I am sure now either same or much improved process may be in place. On a side note, In India once I got the container opened I had to keep my stuffs in the storage for 2 months so then I locked the container with Godrej Locks.

Hope this helps.
