Hello. I know that there are several threads on this already, but the threads are old and the information seems stale. There also isn't much information on typical costs (bill rates or flat fees?) in the old threads.

I'm a US citizen who has relocated to India. I need to find a tax firm to file my US and Indian tax returns, as well as provide ongoing advice on limiting my tax exposure. Google turned up a few names, I've emailed them and received a few replies. The ones that replied do not seem to be the most professional (did not read initial email, repeatedly asking questions that were already answered, reluctance to discuss costs, over-promising tax liability reduction...). The ones that did provide an estimate on how much they would charge were all over the place, the lowest quote was an order of magnitude less than the highest.

I noticed that the US embassy in India lists some tax consultants at https://in.usembassy.gov/u-s-citizen-services/a-z-index/#collapse19. Has anyone used one of the firms listed by the embassy and have feedback? Is anyone willing to share what it cost to have your US and Indian tax returns prepared by one of those firms? Are there recommendations that are not on the list?
