NetSpend savings Account with 5% interest on 5k

Life after returning to India. NetSpend savings Account with 5% interest on 5k

Hi,
i was told by my friend about NetSpend savings account, it is giving 5% Interest on $5k and after $5k amount will get 0.5% interest. My friend said it is good to park some emergency fund (by opening Husband and wife two individual Accounts) and get interest on that amount.

can any one have experience with NetSpend accounts?

i also found brinks, mango accounts same as NetSpend prepaid debit card.

are there any hidden charges or any thing with these pre paid debit cards and accounts with 5% interest. if anyone has experience with these before please let me know.
