Penalty for overstaying Australian tourist visa?

I just want to know how this country treats overstayers. Is there amnesty/naturalization if one stays undetected and un-deported for a period of time? How long? Surely, a country with a population lesser than that of any Indian "city" and an area twice the size of India shouldn't mind an extra human or kangaroo? :cool

Nope....they absolutely don't mind an extra kangaroo....have fun!!
