R2I Picnic - Toronto

Post by mn_op »

We had an R2i picnic last Saturday. It was a great fun (so please ignore my statements in H & B....It was meant to imply that my brain stops functioning when I see food)

R2I_Real and AutoEngr and mn_op and their familiies went for a picnic near a waterfall.

The picnic was a lot of fun...We three families were meeting 3rd time.
R2I_Real successfully motivated another desi group to accomodate us in their cricket team. I tried to bowl fast on the grass after he praised my bowling...trust me its hard to make tennis ball swing on freshly mowed grass...and I am planning to join his Cricket club from coming Sunday (I had body pain this Sunday)...if he doesn't retract the invitation.
AutoEngr swung the bat very well but I got his prized wicket.
Kids were busy running around and getting dangerously close to the water current.

It was a hot and humid day and after an hour of Cricket, we were sweating...and nothing beats the heat better than getting soaked under waterfalll...(you logical folks might have guessed that it wasn't the Niagara falls). We were the best prepared family when it came to playing under waterfall. We had packed our swimming costumes. So once were done getting soaked under waterfall in our regular clothes, my son and myself changed into swimming costumes for rest of the evening.

The conversation was very entertaining as discussions about plans after R2I were kept at the minimum. We usually plan to talk about R2I but never get a chance :-). We seem to know each other's motivations well.

We are planning to meet again very soon and I am hoping to get both of my friends seriously drunk so they spill the beans and tell me all good things about India.

This is getting late and wife and son need this clown so will update this thread/post later.

Wow...mn_op you summarized it very well. I would love to add that I felt very homely with my R2i buddies and all discussion and food was fun. I enjoyed the wedding which was happening there.....I was really impressed by R2ireal's real negotiation, merger and aquisition skills with other cricket team (they had better bat than . mn_op seemed alright after long and tiring traffic jam..that waterfall has little hint of "Lonavla"...and i dont know why it was reminding 'sonali bendre' and 'jo hal dil ka edhar....song from Sarfarosh...'
