An extended question. For a first time job seeker in US (I was previously employed in India. My Indian employer posted me in the US later) what documents (college and previous employer) are required? I have a B.E from an Indian Univ that gave the Degree Cert. and Marksheets.

Also, how is the contract job market? Is it better than the permanent positions? Is it easier to get hired in a contract position these days in the US?

For a person who has never ever taken up contract jobs, what are the precautions that need to be taken? W2 on contract/1099/C2C?
