MT: All Questions on taking TV to India - LCD, NTSC, PAL, 110V
I meant the UPS not the TV. Good idea to check all the components. But the BR1500/1000 does make a whirring noise when the inverter is functional.
When I was running my setup with a voltage stabilizer (from outlet) I never heard the noise. I can confirm that it is not ...
The BR1000 outputs an approximated sine wave, which is what I use. I have friends who use BR1500. You do not need the expensive pure-sine wave version. I use it for the same purpose that you are planning to and it has been working fine.
rigmarole, I finally got a ...

MT: All Questions on taking TV to India - LCD, NTSC, PAL, 110V
You can get transformers with pretty much any rating you want. That is not a problem. You can get a 1500W transformer and 1.5kVA UPS. Are you planning on using the receiver/home theater system whenever your TV is on? If not, then you could consider splitting the transformer ...

MT: All Questions on taking TV to India - LCD, NTSC, PAL, 110V
Well, if your sub-woofer is separately powered (ie. has its own power cable), then you need to add that to the total. You can find this number behind your subwoofer, near the power cable or in the manual under "power requirements" section. In any case, you are unlikely to ...

MT: All Questions on taking TV to India - LCD, NTSC, PAL, 110V
Let us see. 170W + 600W + 20W = 790W 790W + 20% buffer = ~950W (MAX) You need a 1000W transformer and a 1kVA UPS. 2000W is overkill. My suggestion is to replace the stabilizer with a UPS. APC model BR1000 should suffice. It is rated at 1kVA (660W). It costs about Rs. 7.5k. If ...
