Transferring money from US account to India account from India

Thanks for the tips. Looks like I should have opened the Remit2India account while in the US, asking for US address now.
One question, I still need to pay the service tax while doing the transfer, right? Seems Govt of India charges that.

Transferring money from US account to India account from India

Hi
I have now moved to India and found out that in order to wire money from my US bank to my local Indian bank, I need to be physically present in the US.
What is the best way to move my money from US to India in this case?
(Money to India from ICICI allows only small amounts)

Thanks!

Resident status during tax filing

I had a chat with a tax consultant and he said the filing status entered wrong last year doesn't matter as long as all taxes on money earned in India was paid. So, I am leaving it at that.

Resident status during tax filing

Hi
I have a question on tax status filing. I returned to India from US early last year.
I am filing my taxes in India this year as RNOR. However, I wrongly filed it as 'Resident' last year when I should have filed it as NRI.

Is there anything I need to/can do now to fix it?

Thanks a lot!

Car: Hyundai i10, Auto Vs Manual in India

Some more info on AT vs MT. I am about to buy my first car (small) here in India and I have to say, economics wise, MT is definitely better than AT both in terms of immediate buying cost and fuel cost. With petrol prices shooting so high, the difference gets magnified. [For Hyundai i10] [B]On-Road ...

Filing of Treasury Form TDF90-22.1 - Value of bank accounts over $10,000 outside USA

Does filling in this IRS form and reporting to IRS apply even if you are an Indian citizen transferring money from US account to India bank account? (I was on H1B).
Thanks

Hello I am an Indian citizen who has R2Ied and am now transferring all my money from my US bank account to my regular India bank account using ICICI service.
