80k Canadian to 15.5L rupees- worth it?

I would not suggest you to make a move unless there are compelling reasons for you to do so. Assuming 16 L CTC, it will be on the lower end to maintain the quality of life you would otherwise expect when making the move. Keep trying for other options in the background and see if there are ...

Healthcare etc. in the US

% range of course depends on the size of the company... because of the group size for the health insurance policy. Typically larger companies can negotiate better with the insurance companies. But a lot of mid-size and small companies join outsource their healthcare and HR through organizations like ...

renegotiate offer after signing?

No one's stopping you from re-negotiating and annulling the signed offer letter... check if there are any conditions of termination clauses on the letter you signed. I am sure if the company wants you bad, they will be willing to match the new offer. Finally you are the best person to pick up the ...

Is moving back to India a good decision?

Whenever I am in such a position, I ask to myself... Is moving back to home a good decision? ... and I get my answer right away. Go ahead and try it out, somethings are better experienced in real life than just sitting and contemplating with a bunch of "what is" questions.

Company internal transfer to India

Depends really on the company. While a majority of the larger/mid-size companies will try to adjust your salary into the "band" (of course they will consider your US experience), the smaller startups with good funding are willing to negotiate closer to your US pay. For me I am in the process of ...

Salary negotiation for US company - Work remotely in India

I am also in the same boat as OP. Trying to negotiate a 2 year salary while working in India. Company is insisting on India payroll, while I am asking for a reduced US payroll. I am aware of my tax liabilities in India if I am on US payroll. My main concern is that when I come back to the US after 2 ...

30L-40L doesn't seem realistic in the market....

The best salary is one which meets your needs... If you keep comparing, there is no end to it because there will always be someone getting more than you at your experience level. Mental balance is more important than bank balance.

R2I plans in 2012 Looking for a job

If your company has an office in India, you could try a company transfer to India location. This allows you to get a job easy and don't have to go through the hassles of interviewing from here in the US. I feel a face to face onsite interview is always better to understand the work culture when you ...

Best family cars in India for 2011 R2Iers
Speaking of cars....how hard is it to drive a stick shift (manual)? I've been driving since I was 16 so its not that I don't know how to control the vehicle....but my cars have always been automatics. So, for those of you who have learned both or are in the process of learning ...
