Zen, Thanks for the response. I saw that IRS cashed the cheque. That was fast !! Its less than a week of mailing the package. When did you mail your package and did you get an agent assigned yet?

I mailed my package by certified mail. The return mail (green card) did not have IRS stamp or signature on it. Did you have the same experience? The USPS tracking says item delivered but to zip code 73301.

I sent the extension letter, forms to extend time to assess taxes ,FBAR penalties, OVDI-CI letter. The remaining are dependent on bank statements which i am awaiting.

I didnt do certified mail...just did delivery confirmation.I checked on USPS online that the mail was delivered to the address. Tried calling the hotline several times since morning but the mailbox is full. Will keep trying. August end might be a busy time when they received a lot of letters...so ...

I filed my letter to OVDI-CI in July and my attorney did not let me know until end of august that they need spouse info. I added that and mailed end of august. Havent heard anything so far.

rsharma, that is very true. Thanks ! I prepared the OVDI letter and all he did was edit 2 or 3 sentences. You are right. I dont need an attorney. I have realized the hard way. A CPA is much better for OVDI to interpret the rules. I will change the atty to a CPA. I'm just waiting for the OVDI ...
