kochisulthaan, highly appreciate you sharing your experience, feels like at a high level if you are surrendering GC they would be surprised but should not give much problems with visa...hopefully - please keep us updated on when you get your visa and passport.

Thanks - how was the process of getting the visa. Was it easy enough given the fact that you were surrendering your GC. Or did they ask you tough questions. Did you get a letter from your employer saying that you need to visit US for business or you just said you need to visit for tourist reasons ...

I am thinking about this too - anyone who has gone through this experience - would highly appreciate if you can share the visa process - what questions you faced or was it easy enough to convince given that you are surrendering your green card and so the immigration intent is no longer there

Would appreciate more feedback on this topic if someone faced similar situation - I am in similar boat - family assets (non-movable) significant such that it is not prudent to leave it - also in India with property etc. the challenge is that it requires maintenance otherwise risk of losing
