Biggest expense is house so if he has one that is comfortable (1500 sq feet area with 3 Bedroom) . we can easily make 10% with fixed deposits for 1 crore, another 50 lacs in accumulating fixed deposits, 50 lacs in bonds/indian stock and keep 50 lacs USD 401k, investment (index funds ) so getting 10 ...

Hyderabad is the cheapest metro today, you can still get good apartments within 30min drive from hitech city and 20 min drive from gachibowli for 2500Rs per sq feet.
It beats me, where as Coimbatore its more than 3500 anywhere around 20 mins from city

Why you guys still live in feudal mindset even after living in USA for long time, whats wrong in eating cold cereal if it is nutritious and tasty and eat heavy brunch or breakfast when you have all the time in the hand. You don't need to send kids to private school here public schools in good neighbourhood are comparable to private schools in India, you don't need full time or driver here because driving is not chaotic and you can get most basic cleaning with machines dishwasher, washer dryer, iroomba. We can ...

I am sure Delhi and Mumbai are way more expensive than other metros But you should be able to find middle class places everywhere. I know in chennai, rents go for 1L and above for nice 4 bedroom apartments in Posh areas and about 65K in upmarket areas with power backup etc But avg rent in uscale ...
