Have you faced discrimination?

Things went well with iluvdes. But just wanted to share an incident I have not been able to forget. My daughter (then about 5 years old) was one day rubbing hard over the back of her palm. When I asked why is she doing that, she answered 'I don't like this brown color, why is it not white'. I asked ...

MT: Tax Filing and Personal Finance Software

Microsoft Money should work in India. I have last six years' history in Money. I have to see how it behaves after changing base currency. I currently have both Re and $ accounts in it and they co-exist without any problems.

US Patents Yoga

Here is one article I found about some of the previous US patents revoked due to Indian protest. I don't know if any yoga patents fall into that logic. [I]TWO major decisions have revived the intensity of the patent debates that came to the centre stage of national politics during the finalisation ...

US Patents Yoga

The article has too little information to give any comments. If they are copyrighting a yoga mattress, no problem. If they are patenting sun salutations, that will be a problem. Little digression from the main topic. I didn't understand India's fight against patenting neem and turmeric. Does that ...

Cow urine - Is it really that medicinal?

And about beggars and thieves in pre-British India, I doubt that there were none. Huge portion of population was living as untouchables with no access to any opportunities in life. Begging was considered normal in most Indian religions (Buddha himself used to go for alms). Infighting among kings was ...

Cow urine - Is it really that medicinal?

I will try to explain: Niche is not becuase it cures anything, but satisfies some other psychological need to the people who are fed up of a disease. Ginseng is to US what cow urine is to India. Both are being sold with lot of claims of cure, most of which are unproven By stopping fraud, I meant why ...

Cow urine - Is it really that medicinal?

[COLOR="Red"]But even in the land of FDA and tight regulations, you still have people buying ginseng for curing various ailments. Why are they doing it? Is it because the so-called mainstream medicine is not satisfying some need. Unless there is a niche, how are people able to sell this even to a ...
