I live in Nova too.

1000-1200 easily for groceries ( I am including $300-$400 Gas bill/2cars as well).

if both kids are <5yr olds, the day care expenses are between 1500-2000 per month.

What about the activities for kids? My 2 kids's activities are ~$500 per month.
In desi communities, the above also consider as bare minimum.

We spend about 6.5k -7K per month which includes (3.2K for mortagage).
2 income family with 2 kids. No car payments!!

I thought we are moderate spenders!
After looking at the numbers here, I no longer think so..

Anyone had experience with service apartments in bangalore city?

Yes it is 460/- per month. The name of the day care also funny. It's called "Mothers day out".

Check if area has any catholic church sponsored day cares. I live in Washington dc area and they have lot of churches with that facility. I send my little one for half day for all 5 days by paying $460/-.
