Why Bay Area
Yet another bay area resident. My two cents. Well when I first came here in 2006 (height of real estate boom here) I did all the rent Vs buy calculations, RRK had an excellent excel spread sheet (from the old msn forums? I think) and declared it was insane to buy. Around 2010-11 the equation has ...

My Simple /Silly US Tax question
hawapani, I am not Bobus/desi but : - If you are not aware, you can deduct up to $3000 dollars of capital losses from your income. So if you have any capital loss on a stock or fund, perhaps it is time to take advantage of it. Learn about wash sale rules if you want to buy it back. - You will ...

Just calculated my last years return on my individual stock portfolio (outside of the index funds). It is my first losing year since I started investing in individual stocks 4 years ago . I lost BIG! close to 25%! That hurts... 80% of the losses are due to DNDN. I shouldn't call it investing but it ...

IMHO Chinese stocks are in bubble mode. My prediction is that it will burst badly after next years Olympics. That might be a good time to buy. As of now no position. dink [QUOTE=RRK;50565]Did any one check FXI price lately ? It was less than $100 in March and yesterday it touched $200. [URL]http ...
