correct me if I am wrong; is this any differnet than renewing the Indian passport,
while holding a valid visa (H1,H4,L1, etc...) which is a travel document too,
while being in India or outside.

Applied for OCI at Hyd FRRO office recently, end-to-end it took only about 3+ weeks.

I received the Renunciation Certificate, after about a week followup. They misplaced my original forms and asked me to fax again.

Travisa agreed to reprocess the request, and asked me to fax all renunciation docs again, which I did. Let me see how long it takes.

to tell me that they have not received the Renunciation Certificate paper from Consulate.
They said they will followup with Consulate, and call me back in couple of days. [/INDENT]
