US Stock Picks & Stock Trading

[quote=vivmat;89292]Layman, Dont know about bubbles, but some folks are talking about the middle east and Africa as being the next wave of truly emerging markets - now that BRIC are "considered already emerged" :emteeth: Check out TRAMX - one of the few funds that invests in the ME and Africa. I got ...

Thirukural - Great work or nothing great?

Wow, could Thiruvalluvar have guessed that there would be a passionate debate on his work in an online forum some 2000 years later! Suggestions for minimum risk short term assets

Etrade savings account gives 4.1% currently with no minimums and no fees, and is FDIC insured up to $100K. Their CDs offer at best 3.40%. The savings account interest rates can change any time, but still 4.1% seems good to me given that it is FDIC insured.

Rebate check under Economic Stimulus Act of 2008

My AGI is above 150K and less than $174K and so I get a partial benefit (married filing jointly). Is there anything one can do to reduce 2007 AGI now, which can entail a bigger check? I dont think I am eligible for IRA deduction based on my income level. Feel free to suggest moving this question to ...

My Simple /Silly US Tax question

In continuation of post 156 and 157 in this thread: My aim is to compare which one of the following is better. I have some payroll money that I can invest in one of the following two ways. (1) to make some additional contributions to my traditional 401K vs. (2) invest this in an after-tax account ...
