OCI eligibility of NIT's
Whether it is the director or the Vice Chancellor unless you get it in writing you have nothing to prove.. Even then the director/VC can simply say "Oh, that is how I interpreted the rule-book.. but sorry to admit but I was incorrect... you now have to pay in $$ or lose the ...

OCI eligibility of NIT's
I talked to VIT's Director of Admissions directly - saw him in his office about 3 months ago. He said that OCI students (ie. foreign passport holders) can compete for domestic fees thr' VITEEE (newspaper ad came out couple of days ago). So we have contradicting info here. Someone at his level should ...

OCI eligibility of NIT's
Good point - I too thought that as a possibility since the Admissions director was eager to get the $1000 advance. My thinking is that they are not going to reject the candidate paying NRI fees. So getting ranked FIRST through regular entrance exam is a good idea. And then if the "un-biased" ranking ...

VIT has its own entrance exam for the domestic category - today's paper (The Hindu) has an AD about applying for VIT's exam for 2015 admission. I remember my friend's daughter writing different entrance exams for Manipal, VIT, SRM & BITS.
Thanks suddenly2I. This is very good info ...
Kumte, -Any info on whether SRM, VIT, BITS allow OCI candidates to apply as local students?
VIT allows OCI candidates to apply as local student (ie. pay domestic fees which is around 1/3rd or 1/4th of NRI fees) - his ranking ...

OCI eligibility of NIT's
Yes - SAT is preferred more in the coastal states, I believe - as seen in this map .. http://studypoint.com/ed/sat-and-act-test/ As someone pointed out, SAT writing section is being eliminated in 2016. I don't know about scoregetter. I heard about an agency in Chennai guaranteeing 200 ...

OCI eligibility of NIT's
I confirmed personally that VIT allows OCI students to compete with Indian students and pay domestic fees if they get the required ranking (branches fill up as per ranking in entrance exam) - OCI students finishing 12th in India at least / not sure of ones finishing outside India. If they don't get ...
@suddenlyr2i, when do they have to write SAT?
Early Action application deadlines (Fall 2015 admission) were around Nov 1 timeframe for many universities - so October 1st week was the last chance for SAT.
