Let's hope that US gov doesn't change any rules governing SS in future and that it would pay at least 50%-60% of the benefits 20 yrs from now when most of us would retire. This guide states otherwise [url]http://www.ssa.gov/multilanguage/10145-GR.pdf[/url]. The exception part seems to apply to Indian citizens who would have worked for 10+ yrs in US (hence earned 40 credits).
