MeraNaseeb dude,

Jokes apart :D , are there any restrictions to the kid getting in-state status after 1 year ?

I know about the private colleges( there is no concept of in-state tuition fees), I am considering only state-aided colleges.

Can someone confirm that for subsequent years ( after 1st year), the kid can get in-state tuition fees ? I am wondering if the kid can take lesser no. of credits in the 1st year and increase it later on ? Also Is this true( the in-state kicks in after 1st year) for even if parents are Indian citizen ...

Guys,
It is not too difficult for US Congress to change laws to favor residents and USC( current law allows Indian NRAs to draw soc security benefits after 30% flat tax).
Don't bank on soc security if you returning to India ( especially w/o USC)...
