kid-friendly for sure! a trek down sahyadri doesn't sound feasible with my 7 and 4 years olds. r2i_puneite, since you are already in pune, do keep your eyes open for information on such things. we must form that group and encourage such outings.

mn_op, forming a group is a great idea. you are so right about safety issues. as for time, if there is a group, one can motivate each other to take time off for these activities.
are you already in pune? we are planning on moving in april 2008.
