I would recommend buying the R.O in India. The filters would need to be changed once a year and the membrane itself every 3 years depending on the type of water, level of Chlorine etc. which can be aggressive on the membrane. Getting replacement parts in India for a US bought R.O might be difficult ...

Gitatanga, R.O's should be able to handle 10,000 ppm of total dissolved solids. Typically upto 15,000 ppm TDS a R.O will use brackish water membranes. Thanks. DPS is a very good school but unfortunately it is in the Kondhwa area which will be too far from Aundh.
