I have taken a home loan from HDFC in 2004, But I have been told that there is a pre closure penalty of 2%. Even if I want to repay them with a lumpsum money in between, I have to pay 2% penalty.

Thanks very much for the replies. I will be trying all the options mentioned. One more suggestion is given by my friend- When my family visit USA during summer vacation, I will apply for TAX ID for all and use the TAX ID instead of SSN while opening the Roth IRA. Please let me know if you have ...

Beneficiary in ROTH IRA account

Hi,
Thanks for the replies. I contacted TD Ameritrade, I got a reply that they need the SSN for the beneficiary. I am curious to know how those who stay and work alone in US mention the beneficiary in their IRA , 401 k accounts.

Beneficiary in ROTH IRA account

I am working here since July 2006, I will be here till JUly 2008. I am filing my Taxes as single. My spouse and kids are in India. I want to open a Roth IRA a/c, but i am unable to mention my spouse as beneficiary as she does not have SSN no or TAX ID? Is there a way to reslove this?
