401K, IRA - General Questions

hello,

If I return to India and am still employed with my current company, I cannot touch my 401k account (withdraw or move it to an IRA) until I leave the company. Have others in the forum faced the same issue. Being able to access these funds only if leave the company makes me uncomfortable.
