If you get a renewed H1 visa stamped on your passport, it means that you are abandoning your petition for adjustment of status and your GC process will be stopped . . check with your attorney for further clarification.

OP, do you have your advance parole? If not, you should probably apply for one immediately. With you H1/H4 visas expired, you cannot enter the US while on adjustment of status without an advance parole. Please check with your attorney or immigration department regarding this.

From what I read about Doha international airport, it seems it's a very small airport and therefore, you may be able to transit within 1/2 hour. Although, I'm not sure what other accomodation the airline will provide if you miss the connecting flight!

Television is the very last source that I would use to let my kids learn Indian languages. The kind of crap that is routine dialogue in many a soap/serial on Sun TV/Vijay TV/Jaya TV etc. is appalling. Kids are better off not listening to such crap. Kids have the amazing ability to pick up languages ...
