R2I for new parents
Unless you are forced to R2i due to visa issues I would not recommend it. Staying outside of home city and both working will be much more hassle than in US. You are better off in the US until your kid becomes 4-5 years. If house maid is an option you are looking at be wary that you will be lucky if ...

Before R2I - Keep Indian Citizenship or take US Citizenship ?
There are different ways you can look at your situation. The way I look at is that I was in US waiting waiting and got USC before R2I was because I did not have USC. If I had USC I wouldn't have to work under an employer and wait to get my GC or H1 etc. and end up in this forum. Probably for your ...

How much is enough ?
How much is enough is a good topic which I read to find an answer before I R2I'ed but was not able to get to any conclusion from the site where the numbers occilated between 100k and a million dollars. After moving back to India and been here for a year my(it is just an individuals opinion) thinking ...

Life in US v/s India
Its getting close to a year after my R2I and it been a total rollacoaster ride. I have moved to Chennai. The situation is very bad. Getting my license takes a day(with bribe atleast I do not have to kill myself regarding the formalities involved), gas connection is a nightmare, traffic I don't need ...

Life in US v/s India
There are 1 billion people in India, including are parents, inlaws, siblings etc. As long as one thinks India is your home, I don't think we can be happy. It is close to one year for me in India and just now I am having a feeling of settling down, still I might need one more year to feel complete ...

Nope. If you read my other post I have clearly mentioned that USC is just restricted to passports alone. I never wanted my kids to study in US or work in US. They will study and work in India as normal Indians. Not for studies atleast. Even for job I guess they may end up travelling but not settling ...

Probably the doctor wants company during his retirement days. It is getting close to a year after my R2I and slowly getting settled. One month for each year of stay abroad is what the formula is to get adjusted. When moving back, staying near your dear ones will always work wonders, my personal view ...

India is good for kids than west! agree or disagree?
All I wanted to do is not to force the culture on my kids, it has to come naturally to them. Nearing a year after my R2I, I am not telling my kids about Ramayana, mahabaratha and what god is what, half comes from the school and the rest when we go as a family or when they spend time with their ...

Being an NRI you are bound to be cheated. One main reason is that one doesn't know the prices which will help them to bargain and not familiar around the location(though you are born and brought up there, the changes are there). After being in India 8+ months I have started to sense rupees to some ...
