My R2I dilemma: Am I taking too much of a risk?

Nelly, Dhavala, your posts were quite interesting... Reading all the suggestions so far, two things are pretty clear... One that I am lucky to be at a state where R2I/LIA are both equally attractive choices. Regardless of which one I go with, there will be distinct advantages and positives in both ...

My R2I dilemma: Am I taking too much of a risk?

Thanks for the additional details. I like the idea of independent houses that are part of a community... Per my research, these are pretty expensive - may be in the 1 to 1.5Cr range. Is that accurate? Am assuming you are talking about the NCR area. Also, do you see enough opportunities in the NCR ...

R2I Dilemma - Convince others in family!

OP, You have posted a genuine problem. I saw some good responses and will add mine to the list. Take it for what it's worth... I would recommend a little bit of a paradigm shift. Instead of thinking of the situation as "you" trying to convince "her" or the vice-versa, would it be possible that the ...

My R2I dilemma: Am I taking too much of a risk?

#28, #29 and #30 were very thoughtful posts. I was particularly surprised to see the similarities with the case #29. Would definitely be interested to know more about the experiences.

Thanks...

My R2I dilemma: Am I taking too much of a risk?

Thanks all for the complimentary messages... They were very comforting :-) The latest responses seem to have caught the various arguments that I have been struggling with. "Am I going nuts" or is this just a mid-life crisis that everyone runs into? These exact thoughts have come to me at different ...

My R2I dilemma: Am I taking too much of a risk?

Thanks everybody for your detailed responses. It has reaffirmed by belief that the transition to R2I will be worth it if I can find an attractive career opportunity. If the return results in some kind of compromise on that front, it will make it unduly stressful. Will appreciate any other thoughts ...

My R2I dilemma: Am I taking too much of a risk?

Folks, just to clarify - I am most likely going to go with USC for both myself and spouse if I choose to R2I.

Would appreciate responses on whether the risk is worth it.

Thanks!

My R2I dilemma: Am I taking too much of a risk?

I am presenting a deeply personal question out on this forum as I am confident of receiving thoughtful responses. Here's my story... I came to the US about 10 years ago on an H1 visa. I was married, had just become a father and was well settled with my job in India at a tier II town. With attractive ...

Salary / offer / career advise for:gabbar007

Your experience is definitely pretty good. However, per my knowledge, the salary levels do not increase that exponentially and 30L may be a bit too high an expectation.

Around 20L would be my best guess...
