India Inc to weed out job hoppers
Why stick it out when you can get a 30% raise just by changing your job. In the long run they are harming themselves, but who is going to tell them that ? Why would they listen ? OB1
With a 30% raise and assuming at least a similar job function.... why the hell ...

Future of Infosys/TCS/Wipro
Great discussion. I think the Indian IT Services Cos will have hard times ahead but will innovate within their service model (whether it is cutting costs, cutting salaries or opening new offices in Philippines, or opening offices nearer to the customers). With the rising Rupee this will have to ...
The thing that has been happening is that a lot of people from the US tend to program for 10-12 years. And they handle small teams. It is very difficult to give these guys responsibility to handle 50-100 people.
coolMBA you are right on. I am managing a small team ...

I am not expecting any special positive treatment just because I am r2i"ing" from US. But it seems that we can expect some special negative treatment occasionally :). So I guess we should be ready for that and prepare mentally. Look even if I lose my accent (assuming that i have one) can i lose the ...

Look if you have plans to R2I then this is the best time to do it. If you wanted to stay here you should have applied for GC. U did not. Now no use being surprised by fleecing in the H1B market. If u'r plans to go to India are firm then just do it man. The more you attach yourself here the more ...

Growth for Technical Folks in India
Another thing that has me doubting my R2I? I am a deeply technical person. Here in the US the more experience you have in technical areas there is a certain respect but I hear in India folks with 3-4 yrs experience are made architects/managers/leads/etc. In this scenario what is the hope for someone ...

I have often heard from colleagues and friends who relocated to India about how lot of dev teams in India are built with inexperienced folks (incl freshers) and how difficult it is to get them to take accountability for their work. A friend who went back as a Project Manager was frustrated due to ...
