I think it is better to open a Roth IRA and fund that account every month. If you are not eligible for Roth, you can try backdoor roth IRA (Search in google) Advantages: -All the money you make is non taxable at your retirement -after 3 years or so, you can take out the contributed amount portion ...

US Stock Picks & Stock Trading

I am planning to invest about 10k in this market. Any suggestions? I prefer mutual funds, which are undervalued at this point. I will keep the money atleast for an year and this is after tax investment.

Which one is better? buying an investment property in US or India?

No one pointed out the tax advantages if you buy the property in US using a company name. You can take depreciation on the investment properties. You wont get this advantage if you are investing in India.
