R2I Canadian Citizen - indian tax question
Hi GPriya, currently you are not paying any Canadian taxes while working in the US because Canada does not have a territorial taxation system. Even after r2i you will not have to pay any taxes to Canada. Once you get a green card then you will have to file US taxes on your global income - US is the ...

ILuvHyd's R2I (Hyderabad) Diary
Excellent blog Iluvhyd. We are r2i this summer, though to Mumbai. Have to sell our house before we move as well. Was wondering why you are not planning to do a FSBO for your house. I am planning on going that route and (hopefully) save some real estate commissions.

Hi Captainzatac We are also r2i in May/June '08, to Mumbai - plan to live in the Mahim (W) area, so that we are close to the in-laws. I was in Mumbai for 3 weeks in mid Jan, primarily to get the school scene sorted out for my kids - 9y and 5y. After visiting 7 different schools I was able to get ...

How much is enough ? - 2008 discussion
"How much is enough" depends on where in India one is R2. The monthly expenses (excluding home) to live in Mumbai are probably about 150% of those to live in Bangalore or Chennai. If you have to rent a place in Mumbai, which is what we will be doing, that alone is easily about 3-4 times what it ...
