Power Grid FPO
Hi
I missed the Coal India IPO. Do you think it's still a good buy at the current price of Rs 350?
I also am thinking of investing in the Power Grid IPO. Is that a good buy?
Please advise.
Thanks

Dollar depreciating?
I recently came across an article with Peter Schiff's predictions that the dollar would really lose value in the near future. I know very little about what drives currencies, although I keep an eye on the Dollar/INR rate. Since I have accounts in the US, this is a cause for concern. Not sure if I ...

Withdrawal from MF and tax implications
I had been investing through a monthly SIP into SBI Contra until last month. I have discontinued it now and want to withdraw using SWP. Questions: 1) Let's say I sell 100 units every month. Will the oldest units be sold first or do I have to mention anything in particular to ensure that? As I ...

USC - Is R2I for adoption good idea ?
The orphanage name is Shishu Kshema Bhavan in Kanjirapally, Kerala. I went through Children's Home Society of Minnesota (CHSM) for the paperwork. The home study was done locally by another agency which had a tie-up with CHSM. I visited Shishu Kshema Bhavan when I first went to see my son after I got ...

USC - Is R2I for adoption good idea ?
I'm not sure what the Hague process is. IMHO, the following points should be considered: 1) Private adoption- meaning adopting from a relative. I still think that should be a complete legal process as you don't want to look over your shoulder in fear all the time. Maybe your kid will go back to the ...

Hmm! I checked out Funds India. If I am USC living in India presently, can I use that? I see that you require a "foreign address" proof in the list of documents reqd to open an acct.

USC - Is R2I for adoption good idea ?
I adopted 10 yrs ago, when I was living in the US. Are both of you citizens? I took up citizenship whereas my husband remained on GC, because we were not sure how fast the process would be if both were considered "foreigners". At that time, I came to India, I took judicial custody of the child when ...

Both my husband and I have worked for more than 10 yrs in the US. Both of us get benefits statements to our India address. Somebody mentioned to me that you can't claim SSI unless you are actually residing in the US. We have been US filing taxes even after returning to India as we have accounts ...
