Interest Income from NCD is taxed similar to the income from FD. If you sell the NCD then the price difference is treated as capital gains/loss (short term, long term based on the holding period).

You can find ex-date and record date on nse site if it is traded on NSE. usually the price drops on the ex-date, if you buy before the ex-date then you will be eligible for the following interest payment.
