How to maintain my savings: simple question
One thing - NRE Rupee earns much less than Resident Rupee. This has nothing to do with USD or international rates. This is unfair. Better than NRE FD in Rupees is NRE savings in rupee. Gold....see the long term view. Better to keep in Gold than get only 2.5 interest in cash, no? A good fund manager ...

How to maintain my savings: simple question
I had a similar situion some years ago: 1. Now NRE rates are so low. Government is treating NRIs like third grade citizen. They give residents high rates of interest and NRIs are treated like beggars. So pulled out money from NRE. Keep money in NRE savings, you will make more than in NRE FD. 2. NRO ...

Problem getting money back from Timesofmoney.com Mutual Funds - HELP!!!!
No need to waste time and call Toilet Paper of India and as RRK said no need to worry. Just contact the Fund House directly and speak to them, they will help you out. Better to keep dalals out and speak directly. Please don't worry - your money is safe, unless of course the Mutual Fund ...

AVIVA Safeguard - Exit Strategy before term end
I have always kept on saying stay way from ANY ULIP plan, they will just suck your money away. And don't pay attention to their Terms, what do you do if after 19 years the company goes bankrupt? AIG went bankrupt didn't it? Just invest on your own or if you don't know how to invest, use a good SEBI ...

Can PMS Fees Be Adjusted With Taxes?
Had been out of touch, so sorry for the delay.
RRK - Basic management fee is 2%.
Yes, you are right. Hurdle rate is 10%, will pay for returns above hurdle rate. Tax filing time is near. Please advice.

Can PMS Fees Be Adjusted With Taxes?
I have paid these fees, so am sure. The fees are slab wise ranging between 10% on the lower end to 40% on the upper end, depending on the returns. That is pretty high and that is why I have been thinking of alternatives - maybe a good mutual fund, I don't know. Would appreciate some views. The 10 ...

SEBI bars insurance cos from selling ULIPs
@RRK - Why not keep insurance and investment separate? A ULIP is too complicated and not at all transparent. Take a simple insurance for protection and invest for growing money. Logically thinking any financial agent will push for something that offers 40%. That will automatically cause a lot of ...

SEBI bars insurance cos from selling ULIPs
This is very good move by SEBI. All ULIPs should be fully banned as they are a legal way for these companies to steal our hard earned money. How can they offer 40% commission to agents in first year? This is pure cheating an Ponzi scheme. SEBI should have banned ULIPs much before, but as they say ...

Motilal Oswal PMS: Bad case of customer service or example of bad business practices?
Indiatemple - I'm not sure the returns are same for everybody in PMS. After deducting all management charges I got 120% returns last year.
