Chit funds - good, bad or ugly?
We participate in a chit fund (registered, family owned by FIL) and feel fine with the risk. I send post-tax US dollars to India monthly. Are there any tax implications, US or India? From prior posts, India does not charge cap gains tax on chit returns.

Thanks in advance. I contribute to a 401k plan at work. I have about 20k in a 'Large Cap Value Fund' with Expense Ratio 0.40. There is a also a 'Large Cap Value Index Fund' with Expense Ratio of 0.05. The performace is similar. Should I just move the 20k to the Index fund? Sounds simple to me but ...

My Simple /Silly US Tax question
I work in DE and live in PA. PA taxes 401 contributions as income however DE does not. PA would not (probably) tax the distribution when I remove money from 401k. Is this good or bad for folks intending to r2i?
