Turbotax users beware

If you have been using Turbotax Deluxe to file taxes. Check the review comments in Amazon. Apparently, Schedule-D, E and C has been removed this yr (tax yr 2014) from Deluxe. If you use any of these forms you have to buy Turbotax Premier or move to other softwares like TaxCut.

This is nothing more than scare tactic to drive business to other tax software. There is a hint of insinuation that this is a defect with Turbo Tax.

Intuit as with any other company reserves the right to package their products for maximum profit. There is nothing wrong with Turbo Tax it is just that you will have to buy a more expensive version if you need to use Schedule - D, E and C. Yes, you can call it corporate greed but then most other companies are guilty of it as well.

If you don't want to pay extra, there are plenty of other software products/websites. I personally have been using Turbo Tax since 99 and been completely satisfied....

No one here I believe works for any other tax software company to drive their business up. And no one said this is a defect.
We all understand that Intuit has the right to do whatever they want, and likewise we also have the right to switch products as we deem fit.

No one is "dissatisfied" here with Turbo tax. I have used it too in the past, with satisfaction. Its just that I could find another product that does the same job for me for half the price.

Its more than corporate greed, its bait and switch. They could have raised the price of delux version which is a standard practice, but they are taking away features which people would have expected in that delux version based upon past experience. Its their right to do so, but its deceitful.

There are other tax softwares, but they are bribing congress in keeping themselves relevant and not letting IRS offer free returns. When IRS knows all the income of majority people, they dont need to file returns just acknowledge theirW2 and 1099s.

I think there is unnecessary panic due to bad communication. Intuit VP clarifies that there would be no cost upgrade to existing Deluxe customers, You just have to call Intuit hotline.

[QUOTE]For those who haven't been reading, I have been trying to get returning customers to contact us so we can provide a no-cost upgrade for them. The difficulty is that we can't differentiate on Amazon new vs. returning customers since Amazon (rightfully) does not share that info. So as I've been posting repeatedly here, please purchase / install the TurboTax version you normally get it and then call one of my team members at 800-445-1875 (M-F 8am - 8pm EST). Select Option 1 and they'll provide instructions for getting an instant upgrade.

I hope this info helps.

What does the upgrade get the caller? Premier or just the missing forms?

Are you kidding? I have to buy their product and call them to get basic features like Schedule D? I just want to call him and say "Go $%^&@ yourself."

Removing major features and putting in a higher priced version is not a mistake or "bad communication". It is done on purpose. They wanted to skim their customers. But, now they know that they are going to lose a lot in the long run and so they are playing nice. The best lesson we can teach them is just say no thanks. It will make these people think twice before they fleece customers. It will also help the competition and competition is good for consumers.

I have been a long time user of turbotax and have been satisfied with their product. But, I am not going to use it anymore, on purpose.
