Lets use this thread to discuss how to use certain features of vB.
1) I want to know how/what is the "Multi-quote" option? I was able to use single quote feature but not the multi-quote.
2) I have reported one post (as MRV). Would like to know where/how this is being sent to admins?
3) When I click on "Post Reply" button to post a message in a thread then by default the last post is being quoted in my reply. How to post a reply without quoting the last post?
4) Is there an option to limit the number of posts in a page (before we hit "next page")?
5) Quoting a message takes up to much space in a reply and hence increases the length of messages. For some of our controversial topics, we will run into tens of pages very fast. That is not desirable. How to handle this?

I donot know but will try it.
2) I have reported one post (as MRV). Would like to know where/how this is being sent to admins?
I received it in my Yahoo email inbox. Post # 2 of the thread was reported. Should we create an MRV thread and make it sticky?
3) When I click on "Post Reply" button to post a message in a thread then by default the last post is being quoted in my reply. How to post a reply without quoting the last post?
Will have to check this. Nothing gets quoted, unless you click "Quote" from under the post one wants to quote. I think you mena reply to post xxx.
4) Is there an option to limit the number of posts in a page (before we hit "next page")?
There is a button on the top called display options which allows some display options, I have not played with it yet.
5) Quoting a message takes up to much space in a reply and hence increases the length of messages. For some of our controversial topics, we will run into tens of pages very fast. That is not desirable. How to handle this?
I do not know how to handle that yet and hopefully we will figure a way before beta launch for Chennai board.

Sohu,
I have started creating a FAQ. Click on FAQ to see. I have only completed 10% so far, and have yet to populate the rest of the 90% there. That will help a lot. I am plagiarizing a lot of that stuff from one particular website.
I think we will also create sticky threads for New Users, for COC etc.

sohu: I think we need MRV where members can post the link to offending posts. Additionally, we need to have a central email address (instead of Desi's personal email) where the posts will be reported if any member clicks on "report this post".
3) When I click on "Post Reply" button to post a message in a thread then by default the last post is being quoted in my reply. How to post a reply without quoting the last post?
Will have to check this. Nothing gets quoted, unless you click "Quote" from under the post one wants to quote. I think you mena reply to post xxx.
sohu: That may have happened becoz I had clicked on "Multi-quote" option. I believe Multi-quote has something to do with the full post being quoted when hitting the Post Reply button. I have observed that the multi-quote button changes its color when I click on it.

Sohu,
At this point, I think both RRK and I recieve the email. Although I have to check with RRK if he recieved the email on the psot you reported.
I think we can change this to a common email address which all of us can access.

When I open the thread with many posts and pages, the first page opens up. How do I change so the last page opens up and then I navigate back in time rather than forward. That will allow members to see the latest postings rather than oldest.
