Planning to move to ahmedabad, gujarat

Hi All

Great to find this Abad/Gandhinagar thread and excited to see people planning to move back. We are r2in'g at the end of this year. I have IT background with 12 year of US Experience. M.S. in Computer Science. Will be looking at Non IT business opportunities. Family in Real Estate/Construction field. Just got to see this thread today.
People interested in R2i to ahmedbad were quite in number last year - would like to hear from ones who already R2i'ed.
Have seen quite a community built by chennai R2I'ers and everyone benifiting from that.

Hi Darshan,

I am working in IT field since 15 years mostly in middle east.
Now this bug to R2I is catching me - though no concrete plan drawn as yet - may be 3-4 years down the line.

yes, it will be ahmedabad whenevver I R2I for sure.

Can see lots of development in Gujarat in terms of GIFT city and industrial corridors but not much pace on IT front.

I used to work for Future Group . It is not your typical IT company. It is the IT captive of Future Group. They do all dev/maintaininance of application reqd. for Big Bazaar, pantaloon, central etc (all group companies) . The salaries are also good. The work environment is pretty relaxed . You work 9-5(not even 9-6) which is unheard of in IT. You dont have any evening US calls to take. I enjoyed working there because of work life balance that it provided me.
