For those who are planning to go to India for good or long term what is the right cell phone?
Does it make sense to buy it from USA?
Are there specific models recommended.
Also, is there a recommended phone for frequent travellers between USA and India that can be used across the two countries?
I am sure people have done enough research on this and had have taken cell phones from USA to India for primary use.
Folks moving from USA to India would ideally be looking for a good phone and cost should not be a big issues in the initial days of moving!
I anticipate good number of responses to this thread so please chime in with your findings/decisions/thoughts/suggestions.

Get any Quad Band Unlocked GSM phone. Something like the Nexus One that supports T Mobile 3G bands. There are lots of threads on this forum with specific bands supported by carriers in both countries.
