We had the same issue and I told them I am out of country for a indefinite time and they cancelled mine. But they may want it in writing and I emailed them and they acknowledged it.

Thanks, We did call Jury clerk, she advised for my friend (where my temp. address is) to write letter that the person is my friend ( mention the relationship) out of country or state and sign it mail back to court. I'm relieved now.

Another imp thing you can do is to register yourself & your family at the state dept stating that you will be in India for an extended period. This might really help you in a long run.

I belive it is state motor vehicle agency you need to call. Request removal from jury duty list, you may be asked reason which you can provide as overseas deputation or business. Each state may handle the request differently.

I changed the address to India before leaving CA. Never received any calls for jury duty here. I believe if you have overseas address they do not invite your for JD.
