[TD]Hi,

My son is 3 yrs 1 month, was diagnosed 's as MERLD when he was 30 months old.Received ST from EI till he was 3.He didn't qualify for IEP at local school district as they said his scores are in normal range tho lower side but normal and they feel speech delay is coz of bilingualism.ruled out ASD,AUTISM infact they laughed aloud when i asked is there any possibility of trait should I visit developmental Paediatrician..So I thought of doing private ST.so to start I had do an evaluation again they said his scores r in the lower side of normal range,he has intelligibility issues so we should work on articulation.I started ST .But insurance didn't approve so I hav to pay 110$ for 30 mins.I can't afford it and I dont feel it's worth it.
I want to help my son don't want to stop ST but can't afford private speech therapy. So thought of r2i Atleast I can get ST there.
The new evaluation done by ST says he doesn't hav MERLD???can the diagnosis not b applicable within 6 months,he is not to his peers level tho he speaks ion few word phrases,he has improved a lot understands better than before
We came here only for few yrs and we here from 2 yrs we don't hav any plans of settling here and due professional issues we can't settle here, tho we can do it if it's must for our sons sake.So I wanted to know if any parents r2i with a purely language impaired kid to Bangalore ?is school admission easy ?as he will qualify for LKG 2013 2014 they said they are going to assess him before admissions.
do u guys think it's better to put him to Montessori schools but when I browsed I didn't find good teacher student ratio.
may be few less compared to mainstream schools.
he doesn't hav any behavioral issues he goes to daycare here he enjoys here but here it's like 1:7 ratio so he gets lot of attention and as u all know it isn't stressfully for kids here when it comes to academics.
I want to go back badly as I cam here only to stay here for 2 yrs see USA and mainly wanted to stay as a family.
now I am in dilemma?? Should I shouldn't I.plz reply

MERLD is Mixed Expressive/Receptive Learning Disorder.
This mother who had 2 kids with this disorder has a website http://merldworld.com/page/2/
Please follow to see if her advice of no TV but always writing/hands on approach helps your kid plus don't speak your mother tongue (if it is other than English) till your kid becomes proficient in communication.

GL!
