Why not go back?

When your parents who are in their last years and needing you desperately is it fair to be not near them?

When you have nobody to share your joy when you buy that new car or buy that $2000 sofa, what is the use of living in the US.

Is life all about just getting $$, the 8-5 job and carting kids to activities. Surely, life is to be lived.

At the end of your life , when you are 65+ and the kids are off leading their lives and mostly married to American girls and being self-centered, what use will all that $$ be?

India will offer me a great job with 40+ lakh of combined income, I will be closer to my parents, closer to my spiritual guru, in better weather, among people that I can have a conversation with – and not the superfluous ‘ Thank you very much for opening the door ‘ and there will be a glimmer of hope that the kids will care about you in your old age, having a richer social life - attending the cultural events that make sense to me, going to art fairs etc,

It is natural to feel nostalgic when you are away from home and some needs of seeing and being in the foreign land which once were revered have been fulfilled. The reality will also kick in at some point.

A Friend of mine forwarded this video (English sub titles). I do not subscribe to RT's politics but the content of the video makes you pause and think.

We are in mid/upper level careers in IT. A project manager job in an IT firm in Bangalore will easily give me 25 lakhs. The husband will be a director with upwards of 30 lakhs of earning. That puts us comfortably in 40 + lakh of earning. We own a house but are still paying mortgage in Bangalore. With school education coming up to 3 lakhs per year, that still puts us at a comfortable position . No ?

This is taking off the intial settling expenses of about 30 lakhs .
