With all the news pouring in - especially north India (delhi/UP/haryana) belt regarding woman safety concern. Wonder what folks think about it. Looks like some one is just one bad experience away to bocome prey of such nasty incident. South and western '(read mumbai) looks far better then what we see in North side.

Absolutely right. I would avoid road travel in western UP, haryana and rajasthan.I have heard so many incidents happening from the locals in these areas regarding highway robberies, rapes and kidnapping. We hired a taxi driver and even he had brought a companion for safety. These are mostly muslim gangs operating in these areas.

Well situation is better than US anyways which has 5 times more rape than India and 20 times more per capita rapes.

Good percentage of rape cases are actually false. i.e. Someone caught girl and boy together and girl said he was raping me or girl expecting something from boy/ boy promised something in return for sexual favors and later both parties had disagreement and girl claims rape/sexual harassment or in ongoing dispute between two lower class families to strengthen their case women of one side claim rape/sexual harassment by other side male etc etc

Genuine rape cases are less common and sometimes shock entire nation as in 'Nirbhaya incident', where everyone (Including me) wanted death penalty for everyone involved (Irrespective of their age) But MUCH MUCH WORSE cases occur in USA more frequently. Feminists cashed this incident to push their crooked agenda and made almost impossibly silly laws. Situation is not that bad, in my city Women might walk freely even at midnight (If you ignore some chain snatching incidences due to narcotics related problem in some surrounding villages) I bet it's not true for most US cities, I never heard in my entire life if some woman was raped while walking anywhere in the city, irrespective of place or time. It's more than what most US citizens can claim for their hometown.

Almost every free living country has much higher per capita rape than India. More than Rape itself, India has problem of feminists and pseudo intellectuals.

Indian law and order is excellent, any rape if it ever happens is properly taken care of by the police by taking the reporting girl to the back room and by the time she comes out she tells the truth that nope, there really wasn't any rape. People are law abiding and many of them have no sexual desires. Those who do, they find willing girls who give it up freely and they are so good, they even give dowry also - believe me folks, that is the truth. India is great, very few rapes and all this is due to a patriarchal society which has worked great - let us keep India patriarchal and get rid of the feminists. Oh, and I forgot to mention, that Indian men are genetically and mentally different in that they do not rape due to genetics and the diet of rice and Roti is known to suppress the libido and make men more docile and law abiding.

Ask anyone who has good knowledge of crimes in India and he would tell you that about 80% rape cases in India are false. Adultery and premarital sex are increasing but thy are consensual. Many college students (even from good wealthy families) are available for money, Not just normal degree colleges But also from nursing, Engineering and even medical colleges, Families are unaware what their daughters are doing.

People believe villages are centers of Indian culture, in reality (What I have seen atleast in many villages of my district) situation of adultery/ premarital sex, much worse than cities. There is much corruption within the family in rural area. There is a rural proverb I heard, which says 'Below belly, there are NO RELATIONS'.

All that, But TRUST ME when I say, Actual rape cases are very less in India. They are almost non existing in countries with Sharia laws. Do I recommend death penalty in ACTUAL RAPE CASES ? Yes I do. Do they need it in India right now ? No, too many innocent people (of rape, not consensual sex) would die.

And again, Feminists are bad news :)) They are just forwarding agenda of capitalistic forces, it reminded me of a joke

No, it's true. Some examples of Actual crimes against women being committed in India are

* Infanticide : Greatest of them, being denied the right to live, All due to EVIL of Indian social system. No excuse.

* Less care in comparison to boys. Most uneducated families don't care for nutrition of girl child as much as boys, If government weren't providing free vaccination, they wouldn't bother immunizing them also. Upto 90% village teenage girls would be anemic in my area.

* Less opportunity to study in comparison to boys.

* Dowry problem.

What Actually feminists are doing about it ? NOTHING, they are too busy lobbying for non existing problems like marital rape or entry in religious places.

Marital rape is non-existent? Please go and tell that to the women who have been sexually abused in their marriages. It is a shame that this is not recognized by the law and an even bigger shame to trivialize it so much. The other issues such as infanticide and dowry are not any less horrific but by not recognizing this as a valid issue, we stop women's rights in India from making the progress they need to.
